  • In the years 2014, 2015 and 2016, every summer up to 15 students from Tsalenjikha came to Witten as students and to perform Georgian singing and folk dancing.
  • Now it's time again in 2018 - and 24 students will come to Witten!

The project

The city of Tsalenjikha in western Georgia offers lessons in the afternoon in the student house of the 'Artistic Educational Center'. After the regular school lessons, the children can take part in a variety of subjects: mathematics, Russian, English and German (working groups), Georgian literature, general classical literature, history, art, dance, music. There will also be performances for citizens of Tsalenjikha.
In 2005 and 2007 we were able to visit the student house and were impressed and shocked. Impressed by the tremendous commitment of the teachers and shocked by the structural condition and the lack of facilities of the student house to hold the lesson.
This led to the founding of the association to work together with the Georgians living in Germany and the people in Georgia to build up the school.

What's next ...

Very urgently a heating system must be installed for the students. For this and other activities (see above), we continue to rely on financial support.
In line with our goals, artistic exchange will be able to gain more prominence.
In addition to donations and membership fees, we finance our income from various activities at international cultural festivals in Germany. - Come and enjoy Georgian food and Georgian wine - while supporting our work!
When and where we rebuild our booth you will find on the homepage of this website.

We are looking forward to your donation!
